Why don’t Metro install shaded stops with a industrial fans?
Bonus if it’s one the mister fans.
One of the reasons for the great expansion of the sun belt is due to the creation of A/C. It allowed for people to move to warmer weather and have it be bearable. That is also why you see it’s so car dependent – however not all us can afford cars due to insurance railing us for money, and many resort to driving without insurance – though those of us who respect the law take the Metro.
So anyways, that previous paragraph was just to get the minimum word count of Reddit. Really it’s just one question and that is why Metro stops here so barren? We know they have money, they are doing massive projects throughout the city so why this?
Maybe if you made it so that less people feel like a prostitute – standing at a barren Metro stop starred down by a bunch of people in cars – in such hot weather at that, you might get more ridership. It is unbelievable how low ridership is in such a massive city population wise. 4,000,000 people and only a small chunk uses it – actually, ridership has not even bounced back from pre-pandemic levels – despite life going back to basically normal in Texas. I guess people got a taste of the car life and couldn’t go back.
Edit: Completely forgot that vandalism is a thing, well I guess I just got to suck it up lol. Why not more trees at least? They help a lot. Or does that Metro not have jurisdiction in that matter?
