apartment suggestions for new grad

Hi everyone, I am currently rush looking for an apartment for my so and I.

The thing is the apartment will be under my so's name because currently I am still trying to get situated with my parents about this. However, we need to find a place before his work starts, which is early June. I am looking at Montrose and Midtown and I feel that the prices feel a little bit high. From my understanding, there is Camden which is about 1400-1500 with utilities based on the apartment options that they have but we are trying to go for something a bit cheaper because of our financial situation. I was wondering if there are cheaper but decently safe options?

And also, if this will be under his name, how will the arrangements work? Will I have to notify the landlord? I will be doing the tours mainly because he does not have time to look around due to work and school.

My SO is just asking me to contribute 250-300 monthly for rent and utilities because he wants to help out with my financial situation.

Our age: 22 M and 22 F

Our budget is about: 1100-1500 with utilities

preferable area: Montrose/Midtown/heights area? just a safe area

Thank you!
