Please slow down

Houston, slow down on roads. Fatal car crashes happen more and more, road rage is almost a routine, what are we doing to each other?

Here is my personal input, which hopefully will affect someone: my job is to repair appliances in all of Houston and suburbs like Spring, Woodlands, Humble, Pasadena, Pearland, Sugar Land, Katy, Cypress, and since that is a lot of miles – I see how many crazy situations occur because of road rage, reckless driving, and people trying to punish one another for wrong use of lanes or simple mistakes.

Truly avoidable car crashes have become more and more frequent, it is if every week people are experiencing more hate towards each other. But why do we turn on one another? Why on the road, where it is most dangerous? Honestly, I truly believe that we take all the frustration, from a “safe” place and distance, on everyone around because we just get away with it. But do we really feel better after these incidents? No need to punish, instead – have patience and try to be calm by fully acknowledging that it is needed for your own health, safety, and mind. If not, how long until all this built up stress will reflect within and onto the body?

By speeding up we barely save time, not going to lie – there were moments when I had emergencies or was late, and I sped up but no matter how fast these wheels span, I always manage to save no more than 3-4 minutes. Now think about it – 5 minutes, only 300 seconds and we try to save this time by putting ourselves to a high risk of an accident or being ticketed a hefty sum. There are so many thing that can go wrong on the road such as debris, another person who is also in a rush but his mirrors are broken, or insurance scammers might pull their stunts, or your tires might (hopefully not) blow up. Basically, speeding up is not worth it, trust the man please.

Houston, our compassion is not gone nor the survival instincts so please, for whatever it is that you love: your family, your God, your car, you – keep yourself safe and have patience because it will pay off and you will feel better. Nobody feels better after road rage/revenge, only fools!
