Recommendation for lumber yards for non-contractors?

Hello Houston,

we are planning to do some wood working (or practicing to get into it) and are wondering if you have any recommendations where a non-contractor can go and get some lumber to build things (such as simple benches, tables both for interior and exterior).

So far we've heard of Mason Mills and Houston Hardwoods. But we're sure people on here have recommendations based on their experiences and such.
