Rumors of the burger destination’s arrival are indeed true
It’s happening: beloved NYC burger chain Shake Shack is on its way to The Woodlands.
Back in June, Eater reported that Shake Shack had set its sights on a new outpost in the north ‘burbs, and construction permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation confirm that it will open inside the Woodlands Mall at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive. According to the permitting documents, construction on the space is set to be completed in late December.
When it opens, the new Shake Shack location will be the first in Houston’s suburbs, joining currently open restaurants in Rice Village, the Galleria, Montrose, and the chain’s newest location in Downtown Houston, along with an outpost at Minute Maid Park. Founded in 2011 as a hot dog cart in New York City by hospitality mogul Danny Meyer, Shake Shack’s beefy patties and crinkle-cut fries have quickly become a part of the city’s thriving burger scene, attracting lengthy lines when new locations open.
Eater has reached out to a representative for Shake Shack for more details on when The Woodlands will be blessed with its very own ShackBurgers. Stay tuned for an update.
