When you venture out to Chuckwagon BBQ & Burgers in Katy, Texas you’ll notice the friendly smile of Chef Waseem and the creativity that pours out of the kitchen. While you will find your regular items like the traditional Texas brisket, pulled pork, sausage, chicken and turkey – you will also find creative additions like the Hoedown Burger. That’s a Texas dance for you non-Texaners. 

The Kitchen Tour Went Down Like This:

It’s inside the walls of this kitchen that Chef Waseem creates his food masterpieces. I told him he is like the Michaelangelo of BBQ Chefs – once you give one of his dishes a go you will agree…Check out the kitchen tour below:

The Houston’s Great Eats Feature happened like this:

I was joined by a local Katy/Fortbend Celebrity – Andrew Leeper, founder of Katy/Fort Bend Foodies Group on Facebook. We chowed down on some really popular menu items:

1. Hoedown Burger – comes topped with chopped brisket, onion rings, lettuce and tomatoes. It’s simply one of the best hamburgers I have had in recent memory. The fries are also something serious – just the right amount of crisp!

2. From the Secret Menu (which you can find online) we had the Sweet potato fries. These are not your regular order of sweet potato fries. They come tossed in cinnamon and brown sugar, topped with chopped brisket, cheddar cheese, blue cheese dressing, green onions, and bacon. You won’t believe how great it is until you try it for yourself. 

3. Next up was the KFBF (Katy Fort Bend Foodies) sandwich. It’s made of two grilled cheese sandwiches as a bun stuffed with chopped brisket, grilled onions, and grilled jalapenos

4. Lastly, we had a combination plate with brisket, chicken, Mexican street corn and fried okra. WOW! It was awesome – from the seasoning to the presentation…it was all just perfect.

It might not come as a surprise, but I highly recommend Chuckwagon BBQ and Hamburgers in Katy, Texas.
