Mattress Firm furloughs some employees, suspends benefits

Houston-based Mattress Firm has taken steps to mitigate the impact that coronavirus-related social distancing has had on the retailer.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the company has furloughed an unspecified number of employees from its stores, distribution sites and corporate offices. It has also suspended some employee benefits such as disaster pay and paid time off for vacations and personal days.

Furthermore, the company has reduced salaries and store hours at some locations.
