20 year long murder case

LONG POST ALERT. Who: Christopher, born July 1984, 17 years old when killed What: murder by drive by shooting during street races When: Early morning of Sunday October 28 2001 Where: Rankin Road in Houston TX We lived in Clear Lake where Christopher attended Clear Lake High School. He went with friends Sam H, Steve F & Justin Y to street race on or around Rankin Road. Steve & Justin had almost identical green Honda Civics. Christopher was with Justin at some point during the night where we were told they stopped on the side of the road to look at some abandoned tires, & they put them in the trunk of Justin's car. They met with Steve & Sam at a gas station. Christopher switched cars & was now riding in the front seat of Steve's car, leaving his wallet in Justin's car with Sam. Steve & Christopher leave the gas station & stop at a red light at an intersection. It is there a white SUV pulls up, they fire several shots, 2 hitting Christopher in his head & the other bullets hitting the car door. We were told the family behind them saw what happened & pointed Steve in the direction of the hospital. Meanwhile police are told a red car was the shooter. My brother is driven to the hospital where he is pronounced dead. There is now confusion about who shot him because they were in a white SUV wearing a red shirt but police were told red car, white shirt. The description is Mexican male, wearing a red plaid shirt & gold rimmed glasses. If anyone remembers ANYTHING about this night or events that occurred at Rankin Road in 2001 please send a message. No detail is too small. 20 years is a long time for a memory but anything helps. Any of my Clear Lake friends PLEASE share this & encourage others to do the same. We need the word to spread far & wide. Other random details that concern us- no one knew Christopher's last name or phone number, they told them he was older than he was, Steve & Justin failed to ever show their faces around our family again, both of them moving & never reaching out for any reason. We are concerned they know more than they let on at the time. Thanks for reading!
