California -> Texas (Houston). Culture shock?

So I may be transferring to a university in Houston. I’ve lived in Southern California my entire life. I’m definitely going to visit before I commit but just wondering is there any sort of culture shock going from Cali to Texas or are they pretty similar? Anything I should know that’s different socially? I’m middle eastern/Hispanic and Jewish so I know there’a probably not a group for me lol but around here in SoCal i mostly hang around the Mexican community.
