Case for who to draft at Pick 13

I think this pick is so intriguing because of the talent available at this spot. Logic says to go best player available

But I would like to state my case as to why we should maybe look to draft WR at this spot

Whoever we draft at 3, determines who we draft later on, so let’s assume Hutchinson and Hamilton go 1 and 2 in this case

Lets just say we draft an edge here (Thibodeau)

In the picks between 3 and 13 it’s likely that Sauce and Stingley are taken (along tackles but that’s not important to us). If we got Hamilton at 3, its still a similar situation with 3 or 4 edge rushers off the board

Panthers and Falcons could very well go QB meaning more players will be available for us

We could either go with the 3rd best CB, 4th/5th best EDGE, best LB, best IOL, or best WR

To me I’d choose between the best IOL, LB, or WR.

Drafting IOL has a strong argument as there’s not much guard depth in this class

Drafting for LB or WR have a lot of depth at the position

But I just feel like getting the top talent at WR a skill position is definitely worth it and will give Mills more tools to work with.

The Bengals last year opted to go with Chase over Sewell and he changed their entire offense around despite them having holes elsewhere

Williams, Wilson, London, or even Olave are all real difference makers

IOL would be my next choice since it doesn’t have much depth. I wouldn’t mind going CB in McDuffie or Booth, but there’s some good talent in the early second round. LB has a lot of depth and we already re-signed Kirksey and Kamu who are likely starters.
