City of Houston extends emergency declaration over coronavirus, cancels more events
Less than a week after it was first announced, Houston’s emergency disaster declaration over the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic has been extended indefinitely.
In a special meeting Tuesday, March 17, Mayor Sylvester Turner and Houston City Council members passed the measure 15-1. District G Council Member Greg Travis voted against it.
