Can I still claim Houston if I live closer to Galveston?

So I recently got a job in Galveston and I will relocate soon from San Antonio. However, Galveston’s rent costs are a little pricy, so I’m trying to stick closer to Texas City, Clear Lake/League City, & Webster since I have more options in my price range for apartments and to be closer to my Galveston job. I know people outside of Houston-Galveston probably have no clue about those towns, so rather than saying where I’m actually from and getting a “what the f**k is Texas City?” from non-Houstonians, is it still acceptable to claim I’m in Houston if I live in those areas?
