Visiting Rodeo for first time with young kids

Hello everyone. We moved to Houston a couple of years ago, haven't made it to the Rodeo yet. Have young kids (6 and 4 years old). Any tips on visiting? I'm aware of recommendations on taking park-n-rides but looking for more details on a day visit (things to do, what kind of ticket to buy, etc.). Much appreciated. Cheers.
