Affordable tooth extractions

I am looking for a dentist that charges an affordable price for 4 tooth extractions for orthodontic treatment. I was quoted $1,000 ($250 each) at my dentist but this seemed too high for me. Is that a reasonable price? If you’ve gotten any for a cheaper price or know a dentist that doesn’t charge as much, please give some recommendations.

I don’t have insurance, & my dentist told me that this was a cosmetic procedure so insurance wouldn’t cover it anyway.
