Good time to rent?

I’m looking to move inJune and I am still relatively new to this part of the country. I’ve been keeping an eye on places just to see what’s realistic in the drive time for work and I’m wondering, is there a good time of year to rent? It seems like there were a butt ton of places around christmas and now zilch. Assuming this is due to academic calendars, can I safely expect the same in June?
