Department of Defense Exercises

These helicopters sound like they’re gonna land in our backyard. They shake our entire house, it’s absolutely nuts. It seems like this is happening every 6 months or so.

We’ve only been here a little over a year, so I’m wondering if these exercises have been going on for much longer than that. Is Houston just a good urban area for these exercises or is it really a response to specific threats? Someone just tell me this is standard or not.
