Hiring McCown would have put Caserio’s rep on the line, but did this mess make it even worse?

This coaching search seems like a complete and utter failure, even if they get Lovie or Flores. It was about the process and everything that happened in between. It was embarrassing. People said hiring McCown would have been potential career suicide but imo Nick has done something to accelerate being on the hot seat and opened himself up to being questioned by everyone tbh, that includes other GMs, coaches, players, people at NRG and of course the fans.

Why did Cal fire Gaine and BoB? I think tone in the building matters and if Caserio starts getting negative rep in his own building then…? How much did Nick just shorten his own leash? At least if you made a bad hire, Cal only looks at you crazy after next season ends. Now you gotta think he looking at you crazy now.
