Affordable rental housing or starter home/trailer home (near Cypress or in Houston)

Hello,

One of the employees who works at my brother's landscaping business near Cypress, TX. The employee earns about $17/hr and his wife earns some cash income as she has a small catering business. They have 2 small children aged 5 and 3.

They have papers.

Do you know of any rental community that is generally safe and has an affordable 1 or 2 bedroom apartment that will not exhaust their monthly earnings?

Or how about a community where they can maybe rent a trailer home?

He wants to find a place for 6 mos to a year before looking into longer term options.

I know about rental finders etc. but he is very stressed and thinking of moving to another state, I just want to help.
