Looking for some Apartment Hunting tips

Hi! I’m looking for some advice/recommendations on searching for apartments in the Houston area! I’m a 23F and this will be my first time living on my own and would love some helpful advice on where to start looking, how to get a good price or just any tips for someone who has never lived on their own before! Even your experiences somewhere or apartment complex recommendations would be awesome as well! I will have more information about what I’m specifically looking for on my search in the comments!
