Buddhist/zen temples for those unfamiliar with the religion

I’m looking to visit a Buddhist or a zen temple in Houston, but I am not sure where to start or what place is the best. I googled some, but I was overwhelmed by the amount of choices. Do any of y’all know of a place which will help introduce me to practicing the religion more, that you are personally comfortable going to?Thank you!!!
