Bike store recommendations?

Looking to buy my first bike as an adult. I’ve been looking around at used bikes but since I have almost zero knowledge about buying used bikes, I’m thinking of looking at new ones.

Does anyone have any recommended bike shops for a beginner bike? I live in the loop but willing to travel a reasonable amount.
