How to make friends in this area?

This may be a ridiculous question but I from a small state (MD) where everyone knew each other and it was kind of easy making friends since I wasn’t homeschooled. But ever since I moved to Texas after my 18th it has been kind of hard making friends. I mean I have my boyfriend and his loving family who I care for but it would be nice having young women in my age group to talk about things we may relate to. As I said, ridiculous question but in this ginormous city…how do you make friends lmao? And recommend places to go to socialize (that’s not the club)
