Coldest Weekend Trip from Houston?

Does anyone have suggestions for a weekend trip in a colder natural area? Ideally less than 5 hour drive to some sort of state park/hiking area with cabins (or Airbnb’s). I’ve done a lot in Hill Country, but wondering if there’s a better option up north that will satisfy my cold northerner heart.
