Heavy Metal musicians in Houston?

Hey all, I'm considering moving to Texas. Houston is high on the list of cities/areas I'm considering moving too. But since I'm a musician, in particular a hardrock & heavy/thrash metal musician, I was wondering what the music scene is like in Houston. Are there (in non-covid times) a lot of metal gigs to go to? Are there many musicians about that like to play hardrock or heavy metal? Any info on this would be very useful 🙂
