Car Shopping

I saw another thread on this, but am writing for a slightly different reason. I DO desperately need a new car, but I have zero knowledge on where to start and how to navigate these insane prices. I know there are people you can pay to help with the search/accompany you to the dealership/negotiate etc. I am looking for recommendations on that person…even if it’s you and you have solid references? Not sure how to go about this but help.
