Veterans in houston
Transitioning from Service to Civilian
For someone that has never served in the Armed Forces, it’s a difficult article to write because it’s as if I’m writing about walking on the moon although I have never gone higher in the atmosphere than what a commercial airline has taken me.
I do have many friends who have served in the Armed Forces and are now Veterans living their civilian lives in the Greater Houston area. This article serves to acknowledge their service and dedication to this country as I will be sharing interviews with different Veterans whom I know and those I’ve been introduced to along the way.
As is our human condition, there are as many types of Veterans from those who are running successful companies to those who find themselves not able to cope with the daily stresses of civilian life for one reason or another. You will find a growing list of resources for Houston based organizations whose mission is to help Veterans.
Introducing Maxwell’s Soap
Maxwell’s Soap is an American made soap company founded by a combat Veteran. Their mission is to make sure that “no one is so poor that they can’t get clean”. We connected with Maxwell’s Soap because of Joe Palacio who is the Operations Manager in Houston. Joe’s goal is simple – sell as many soaps as possible throughout the US so that more disabled Veterans can be hired while also enabling the company to donate a bar of soap per every bar sold to the homeless. You can find Maxwell’s Soap on the Houston City Beat Business Board here. You can also go directly to their website here.
What makes Maxwell’s Soap better than your average bar? These soaps are made with a premium goats milk glycerin soap base. Natural coconut exfoliators are blended into each bar and essential and fragrant oils are added for an extra dose of freshness. Each bar is sourced with local ingredients and you can place your orders directly from the website as they ship anywhere in the US.Â
So what are you waiting for? Don’t Be Nasty and order your bar of soap today.
