Good places to go for 21st birthday?

I'm turning 21 on the 7th, and wanted to go out (preferably that night but can wait for the weekend), the night before so I can get drinks starting at midnight (and hopefully free ones lol). I wanna get drinks!!! Specifically mixed drinks, cause I haven't had many of those before… But shots are good too lol

Originally from Pittsburgh and know that there there's Carson street where you can walk along the entire street and just bar hop. So you don't have to drive between bars. Is there a place like that in Houston? If so, where? And if not, what's a good area or place to go hang with friends and drink?
