New to H-Town and was recently shot at in my car and chased. Wtf.

Well, as the title states, I’m new to town (recently moved here to take a new job) and moved to what I thought was a safe area, however last night has me really shaken up.

I was driving with my family when a driver ran a red light directly in front of me, if I had been driving a bit faster he would have smashed into us. So I honked at him and kept driving, I didn’t lay into it, but just gave a quick honk like “hey, watch where you’re going.”

Next thing I know the driver slows down and blocks my lane, so I pass him in the left and see he has rolled down the window and is waving at me. Not wanting to get into an altercation I just pass by, but then he immediately starts tailing me VERY closely, I hear a loud bang and I immediately floored it. He followed me very closely for nearly two miles, it was legitimately like a car chase scene from a movie as I made my wife and kids get down on the floor and sped down the road. I was weaving around cars trying to get away and finally was able to lose him by slamming on my breaks and flipping a quick u-turn.

My wife called 911 while we were being chased, but nothing came of it since we couldn’t get the drivers plate number.

Is this kind of thing normal here? It has my wife and kids really shaken up. We weren’t far from our home so it’s made my wife actually afraid to leave our house in her car because that’s the car we were in.

We’re pretty concerned and about ready to just leave this city.
