Are planes flying lower than normal lately?
Y’all, I feel either dumb or crazy, but I could swear planes have been flying lower than usual for the last two weeks or so. I live off 249, north of 1960, and we frequently see planes right overhead, sometimes several in a sort of holding pattern waiting to get to IAH. But starting a couple weeks back, the planes were so low I can make out details like rows of windows, colors, etc., and I’ve never seen or noticed these details before. My husband keeps telling me “oh the airport’s probably backed up so they’re flying low” but I don’t think that’s a thing (see aforementioned holding pattern prior to low flying days). So what’s the deal? Are they flying lower, or am I losing it?
