Is Verlander a jerk off?

Since Verlander has been recovering from Tommy John surgery he hasn’t shown up to any of the games to support the other guys in over a year. All while collecting his salary. Plus there is the rumor that his teammates didn’t want him throwing out the first pitch. The guy strikes me as a douche bag at the least. Curious about what others think.
