How to fix an intersection

Since I’ve been working from home for the past 18 months, I have come to realize that there is a car accident at the intersection by my balcony at least 1-3 times a week. The intersection is Louisiana and Congress, which is downtown. I get the pleasure of hearing these accidents from my living room. I’ve started to dig around and the cause of the accidents is from people turning right on red and their view being obscured by a building from seeing oncoming traffic.

There needs to be a no right on red sign to prevent this. I don’t even know if this is a big deal but it seems like a lot of accidents at one place.

I’m kind of lost right now and feel like Leslie Knope. Is there anything I can do? Write a letter to a city councilman? I had a cop friend pull reports and he confirmed the frequency of accidents but said the cops really can’t do anything.

Any ideas?
