Houston-based Amplify Energy, California officials responding to oil spill

In response to an oil spill, Houston-based Amplify Energy Corp. (NYSE: AMPY) has shut down its production and pipeline operations at the Beta Field in California. The company’s stock is down around 60% in premarket trading the morning of Monday, Oct. 4.
