How does a Canadian Class 5 GDL drivers license translate to a Texas drivers license

Just wondering if anyone knows this as I have called the Texas Department of Public Safety twice now with wildly different answers. I currently hold a Class 5 GDL license. I am planning to move to Texas for a while and just want to know if this will translate to a full Class C license in Texas without having to do any more road tests. This would be of great help to me as I do not want to spend the time and money here on an Advanced Road Test if it isn’t going to translate over any more than a standard Class 5 GDL. Please let me know as I do not want to be in Texas having to take a road test in an unknown place versus Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
