Becks Prime Bows Out of the Heights

Heights residents are going to have to drive farther for Becks Prime’s fresh-never-frozen Angus beef burgers, hand-cut fries and ahi tuna salads. The Heights location at 115 West 19th is closing on Thursday, September 30.

The good news is that 10 locations remain (most of which are in Houston, but there is also one in Dallas), and staff members at the Heights location are being offered positions elsewhere.

Becks Prime is a true Houston original. It started at its location on Kirby Drive.

It’s known for high-quality but convenient burgers, salads, hot dogs and more. Some locations offer drive-throughs, while others are known for scenic patio dining, such as the one at 2615 Augusta, which is the site of a sprawling, 400-year-old oak tree.

According to a representative, Becks Prime sold the Heights location to an undisclosed purchaser. With that neighborhood being in hot demand by both prospective residents and business owners, the sale almost certainly realized an incredible capital gain.
