Humana launches joint venture with private equity firm

Louisville, Kentucky-based Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) has entered into a joint venture with private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe that aims to expand access to value-based primary care for Medicare patients.

It will be a $600 million joint venture, of which Humana will own a minority stake.
