What do you all think about the fake “parking attendants” who scam people out of parking money?

I don’t mean to sound like a narc, the fuzz, 12, the feds, the cops, a snitch, a dime dropper, or all of the above. Parking anywhere downtown is a pain in the ass during baseball season because there’s always some sketchy ass dude trying to scam people into paying extra for parking.

I went to Neil’s over the weekend and had to park in one of the areas where you have to pay. I parked right next to the machine and sign that tells you it’s $7 to park at night. I get out my car and this guy is immediately on my dick talking about “That’ll be $15.” I deadpanned and gestured toward the sign. Then told him that I’m going to pay at the machine. The guy kind of shook his head and let me be. Sad thing is that he had a wad of cash so I’m pretty sure a lot more people fell for it.

I’ve heard that the Houston PD can be “hesitant” when it comes to certain crimes, but I’m a little surprised that they kind of let this happen. But then again, I guess it’s better for that money to end up in the pockets of someone who needs it rather than the greedy companies that charge money for parking in the first place.
