Where did all the lizards go?

I live in the Greenway/Upper Kirby area and last year there were so many lizards. I went on daily walks and there would be tons of them almost getting stepped on if I weren’t paying attention. This summer, I have seen like 4 lizards. Did they die from the freeze? I love seeing them. Just wondering if anyone else noticed.
