Travel advice!

Hello people of Houston! I’m hoping to find some good insider advice here. We will be traveling to Houston in November for a Cirque du Soleil show. I’m obsessed with the shows and have traveled quite a bit to see them. Anyways, the show is held at the Sam Houston Race Park. We will only be in town for the weekend and am trying to make the most of it.

Any suggestions on where to stay? Downtown? Close to the race park? Is there anything to do over there? On maps it looks fairly suburban.

Anything else going on the weekend of Nov 12-13?

Restaurant recommendations are always welcome!

Anything we should see?

Any miscellaneous tips? I’ve driven through Houston a few years ago but never really done anything there.
