Nightlife for late 30-40s?

Hi all,

I’ve done some searches and have been going out to explore past few weeks but haven’t really found any good spots where people in their prime hang out. :-). My friend and I (both F, single) are looking for either a place to dance or with live music and have wound up at places like truckyard and the rooftop place next door. But the crowd is much younger (I’m late 30s she’s mid 40s). We tried Handlebar once but that felt just plain wrong!! 🤣 we’re open to different areas as we’re both pretty new to Houston. Any reccos? Piano bars, packed places – not coupley, live music or dance music?

Hoping to go somewhere tonight (Friday) but Saturday ideas welcome too!
