EcoShield pest control scam sales force in full force

Rant incoming. We live in Oak Forest and have had multiple salespeople for EcoShield come by our house knocking on our door. It’s a pest control company but their sales tactics are extremely annoying and scammy and high pressure. They always tell you they’re going to have their truck out in your neighborhood tomorrow for some of your neighbors, and they’ll throw in a service for you at half cost. They’ll do research on real estate around you and try to have names for your neighbors and what property they own. One salesman for me even pulled up a map on his phone that showed all his “customers” on my street and nearby streets. But nobody here actually uses these fuckers. It’s all a scam.

They try to lock people into 12 month contracts with auto renewal and huge cancellation fees and from what I’ve read online, they make it extremely hard to cancel and will send bills to collections to screw with your credit. And according to the negative reviews I can find out of all the fake stuff online, they don’t do s**t if you actually do sign up.

We went on a walk earlier and on our way back at about 11pm walked by a woman aggressively knocking on someone’s door. I’m 99% sure the lady knocking was one of the EcoShield salespeople who came to our door a few days ago. She had two men with her in cars on the street. It was either an attempt at a late night sales pitch or a home robbery about to happen. This really stuck out to me because a week ago when I was researching EcoShield, I read a review by someone who said he saw an EcoShield salesman who had come to his door show up a week later as the suspect in a home invasion.

Whatever the case may be, this company is sketchy and scammy as hell. It doesn’t seem to quite be an MLM but it has a similar bizarre cult about it.
