Houstonians who pay for annual HVAC maintenance/service for your house: What do they do, and is it worth it?

My neighbor just paid $120 for a guy to check the compressor voltage on the outside unit and hose down the sides with water. Then he checked the unit in the attic to see if it was dry on the inside (opened up a panel), and stare down the pipe to see if there's a clog. That's it…

Not sure if it's worth doing if it's just that. I see posts in r/homeimprovement and other subs talking about freon leakage checks, cleaning off dust in condensor coils, etc. I don't know if this is the norm.

What company do you use, how much do they charge, how often do they come, and what do they do?
