Floating Colorado River from Columbus, TX?

Was on the way home from Austin and noticed signs for tubing the Colorado River in Columbus(only about 1 hr from Houston). For as long as I’ve lived here and done that drive, never heard about that or heard anyone do it.. guessing it is pretty bad but has anyone been? Would be nice having a river to tube that close by..
