Question about Brazoria county history

I know this isn't about the Houston area proper, so if anyone has a better sub to recommend, I'd appreciate it.

My question is about Sweeny, in Brazoria county. When I grew up there in the 70s and 80s there was a theater on main street. It has long been torn down, and even as I kid I could never find anyone who had seen a movie there. Does anyone know more or less when the theater was in operation?
