Are there no entry level positions available?

I’m a male in my 20s looking for entry level work (retail, food, etc). I have applied for 20+ of these jobs yet I have not heard anything back from them in a time where businesses are supposedly “hurting for entry level work”. Anyone in the industry who can offer some input as to why I’m having a hard time finding a job?
