We had the good fortune of connecting with Lamesha Davis BSN. MHA and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lamesha, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
Being a serial entrepreneur has me going on a consistent basis. I accepted the fact very early that in order for me to get to where I wanted to be in life I was going to need to make adjustments in where my time was being spent. I made huge sacrifices in my life and to my schedule by limiting my time. I did this so that I could grow my companies and focus of the details in my business operations. I set goals for myself and measured them and even learned from them. Balancing my time and attention helped me to pivot when needed and measure the growth in my companies. My work-life was challenging at the beginning as my family and friends were adjusting to my new roles. However, it’s improving now that I’ve successfully set up systems and slowly delegating task that I took on at the early stage of building my companies. I think that any wise entrepreneur that recognizes early and adapts to these changes can reach their goals quickly. Entrepreneurs should understand this is a sacrifice but it’s only temporary. Making those commitments to yourself and your company will all pay off in the end. Balance for me is doing the things that I enjoy on my own time and not being constrained.

What should our readers know about your business?
I own Health Care Travels, L’Mor Med Spa, Mobile Express Labs and a few other upcoming ventures. All of these ventures in some capacity are situated around healthcare. I’m most proud to be expanding and hiring and providing others with the opportunity to highlight their skills and be the experts in my operations. I am where I am today by reading a lot. Then once I absolutely needed the experts I told them what I learned, read and what I was trying to solve. Some experts were so amazed at what I knew they even offered their services at discounted rates or no charge at all. No one passed on the information I now know to build my companies I read, did continuing education and did trail runs. Learned from my mistakes and kept going. It was not easy. I was patience with myself and realistic that I was not going to know everything. Reached out to attorneys who helped structure and protect my businesses. All of my bands where started with helping others. I saw and recognized gaps and built solutions to fill those gaps. I bet on myself and it worked for me and want to let others it can also work for them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Post Oak Hotel when i’m feeling fancy. Bloom & Bee for poolside views with drinks and food. I love the top service this hotel provides. I love patronizing small owned businesses so I find their boutiques and restaurants and pop up shops and go to support.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents (Latricia & Phillip) and my God Father (Louis). They have been my backbone. They have supported me, encouraged me, filled in the gaps when I needed them most. They are my mentors and they have been here every step of the way to ensure i’m supported with every venture I take. My business partner is who is always one call away. With his vast business experience he teaches me how to negotiate and how building relationships through networking. Also my social media followers are so supportive many who I have not me,t but send messages supporting me on this journey.
