is there such thing as a flat rate attorney?

duuuude. currently going through a stepparent adoption. my dumb self didn’t understand how retainers work. down payment so they can start the case and then you get billed monthly. these monthly invoices are killing me, but i’m too far gone to start over.

but in the event that i ever need an attorney again, is there such a thing as a flat rate attorney in houston? or do they all work off the retainer system?
