Is ticket dismissal instantaneous after submitting defensive driving docs?

I searched the sub and couldn’t find a solid answer. I’m turning in my DD certificate/record/notarized affidavit next week and was wondering if the ticket gets dismissed then & there in person or if a judge goes through all the documents later & dismisses manually.
