These are all traditional classic cocktails many of us had on more than one occasion. There is one cocktails that sips above them all. It rises to the socialites, it’s held by the masses, and its sold in nearly every restaurant you have probably been to. Her name is Margarita.

The original Margarita on the rocks was set to have been created in 1938 by Carlos Danny Herrera. He had to get creative for one of his best customers and inspiring actress named Marjorie King, who was allergic to all hard liquors except, you guessed it, tequila which is the main ingredient in margaritas. However, there was another contender for the margarita inventor title which holds a more rooted merit. Margarita Sanes, a wealthy Dallas socialite claims she whipped up this concoction in her Acapulco vacation home in 1948 among the prestigious guest was none other than Tommy Hilton. Hilton later added the drink to his Hilton bar menu.
