Daily dose of Yordan (Game 33)
At bat 1: 3 pitch single to center
Yordan took the first 2 pitches of the at bat, both of which were strikes low in the zone on fastballs. He then took the next pitch, a curve in a similar spot, and dumped it into center field for a single.
At bat 2: 2 pitch flyout to right
After a borderline strike call on a low curve, Yordan took a pretty good swing at offspeed in his wheelhouse, but he just didn't put enough power into it, as it died in right field.
At bat 3: 4 pitch single to center
Similar to his 1st at bat, Yordan took the first two pitches from the reliever, both of which were strikes. He then fouled off an outside pitch before taking an inside curve into center for another single. Great approach by him to adjust and hit the offspeed, proving that he can't just be tempted by the dirt pitches anymore.
At bat 4: 7 pitch double to left
After an absolutely dog s**t Bregman 3rd strike call, Yordan came up and swung and missed at two pitches in the outer half, a fastball in the zone and an offspeed nowhere close. Then he did what Yordan does best, taking tough outside pitches and fouling off others before taking another low fastball and driving it with force to the opposite field for a deep double. Great hit by him and amazing fundamentals to work from a 0-2 count to that situation.
