Is it safe to park at the airport?

I've never parked at the airport before. The difference is $50 for parking or $110 for Lyft rides.

Does anyone have experience parking at an airport? How did it go?

Edit: I'm thinking about the airport garages. I don't see parking spot available at IAH, just ecopark.
